Hi, and Welcome to my website!
I trained as an engineer, graduated from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and worked in marketing, advertising and consulting. An award-winning writer (Commonwealth Broadcasting Association), I am a book critic for the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong. My debut novel, Earning the Laundry Stripes, was released in 2006 to critical acclaim, with India Today calling it ‘an enjoyable tale of a sassy girl’s headlong race up the corporate ladder…’ My second novel, The Long Walk Home, will be launched at the London Book Fair on 21st April 2009! Redolent of the soil and spirit of Punjab, it is the story of one man's odyssey through the tumultuous 20th-century of Punjab - from pre-Partition India, to the holocaust that accompanied independence, the Indo-Pak wars, the Green revolution and the rise of religious extremism.
